Our little ones love to play outside. It seems that no matter what is going on or what the weather is, they want to be in the yard. They have created all kinds of games to play, and have had many adventures in our back yard. One day they were pretending to fall over a waterfall while rolling down the bank. Another day Jesse came running in to get a small New Testament so he could preach from the top of the play-set. They have dug up dinosaur bones and held a funeral for the dead robin they found. Abigail loves to swing while Jesse and Josiah spend a lot of time digging. They bring in every little flower that can be found and sweetly give it to me. So many precious moments are shared, and we treasure them… but recently we had an extra-special moment.
Abigail came in singing and said, “Mommy, I saw Jesus outside.”
“Really!? What was He doing?” I asked.
“He had his arms out and was laughing to me,” she said.
A week or so after that, she again came in to tell us, “I saw Jesus up in the sky, but he had to go away.”
“Where did he go?” we asked.
She answered, “He’s waiting to fold in the sky.”
John 14:3 says,
“And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Jesus said he will come again. We do not know when that event will take place, but the words of our three year old daughter were sweet to our ears. Those little words were reminders of what the Lord has already promised… He will come again.
Are you ready?
